Friday, July 19, 2013 - Decanted for about 2 hours. Dark inky color. Really fantastic nose of violets, ripe black and blue fruit, campfire, smoke and sweet berry reduction. Really nice. Mostly blackberry and blueberry fruit notes on the palate along with more of the floral notes and just a touch of the smoke. Medium+ acid and tannins but incredibly smooth on the mouthfeel and a nice, long finish. No sense of heat or high abv on the palate at all. This is really good syrah and I think will continue to improve dramatically with age.
