Wednesday, July 18, 2012 - The end of affairs at the Waterford tasting. Chenin Blanc at both ends of the rainbow. Here, I feel the hand of the winemaker more than I'd like to. That the 2010 Folk Machine CB "skater" that began the tasting was crafted from the same batch of fuit just boggles. With that wine I got a sense that the maker's technique fulfilled the grapes' destinies honestly and deliciously. Here, it seems like the fruit and where it comes from almost doesn't matter. Still pretty tasty, but if anything about sense of place speaks to your soul you might feel as I did the next morning: a little bit dirty.
