Sure, the alcohol is high but from what I understand this is "brut de fut" and thus you may add water as you see fit, they are only doing you a favour of not diluting the product before it is being served to you. Somehow, this reminded me of one of the best Agricole Rhum's I have ever tried (coincidentally also a 1993 from J.M., Martinique) with it's ripe, almost sweet aroma of ripe berries and rose-petal pot-pourri (although sugar has no smell, I know, I know). Flavour was full bodied and with great intensity (as you would expect) but to me beautifully rounded and long, given the cask strength - though being only ~45% I guess this was expected but it certainly lived up to the expectations! Beautiful dram, even for a whisky lover!
