Right out of the bottle it was my first thought that these grapes were picked early. Heat, alot of green fruit, no overwhelming oak, good structure, floral undterones that follow through from the nose to the mid-palate and a slight hint of fruit, but otherwise slightly underwhelming through the finish. With about 3 hours in the decanter, fruit became more pronounced (less than I would expect) and some mint, a little oak. I suspect that this wine was picked early in expectation of poor weather (that caught many growers during the 2003 harvest), the young fruit hasn't fully started to offer itself up, but I believe that this wine will age amazingly well. 2-3 more years of cellaring will be just enough to start to soften the tannins and bring the fruit forward. Wait to experience the true potential of this wine. I believe that this one should keep and improve for another 10 to 15 years. 91 to 93 if opened in about 3 years.
