Monday, March 11, 2013 - If score were based on nose alone, this might be a 95. Quite immense in the scheme of things. Black cherry, slate/lead pencil and a touch of wood. On the palate very generous and mouthfilling with a solid finish. I don't see a lot of tannin in this bottle - plenty of balance. Pretty much right there ready to drink. An estate that remains relentlessly on form.
For those of you who have met the count (or is he a baron?) (at UGC tastings in my case) I suggest we put on an ascot and raise a glass to the man.
I add that this has basically been stored at a temp of 47 to 52 degrees since acquisition upon release. If your storage isn't up to this, my guess is that it is really time to start working on your bottles of this.
