Wednesday, October 22, 2014 - Decanted for 30 mins. Medium ruby color with great clarity. Really aromatic on the nose with notes of black tea, baking spice, cinnamon, cherry cordial, fresh cut flowers, orange zest. Wow. The nose was explosive and continued to evolve over the course of the night. On the palate the wine was a bit tight at first with a lot of acid and tannin keeping some dark red cherries, pomegranate and baking spices in the background but the wine opened up after about 90 minutes. Dry mouthfeel and finish. This wine is enjoyable now but I think has 93-94 pt potential in a few years.
