Monday, June 22, 2009 - Very young but with the chicken and tarragon coming out...

Very pale but showing a great nose of lemon curd, clean waxy chardonnay fruit, and steel. Some oak but not too extravagant for Fevre. Great minerality on the palate, good acidity and oh so painfully young. Big and brash for a Chablis, perhaps even a little fat, but without the extreme buttery/honey unction of it's more southerly neighbours. Lovely long finish which sharpens up the steely structure nicely. Excellent and enjoyable now but really needs another 5 years to show it's true colours. Utter bargain.

One word of caution - this wine seems very sensitive to temperature. Don't over-chill it.
