Thursday, October 18, 2012 - Ancient vines Granacha. Popped and poured. Darkest garnet, almost inky with aroma of cherry. In the mouth, full-bodied, with kirsch, blackberries, licorice, spice and pepper. 24-hr decant reveals oak and cedar notes. Lengthy and hot finish. Drink now after an extended decant, or wait for at least five years before uncorking. Phenomenal QPR (I paid $8 for a bottle). Buy this wine by the case.
By the way, this is a dead ringer for the excellent Cercius, which is from the same importer, but retails for almost twice as much.
