Tuesday, October 28, 2014 - Ruby color, garnet at the edge. Initially a sharp scent of wood tannin which faded, allowing aromas of dark berry, spice and crushed rock, all translating onto the palate. Moderately firm mouthfeel with a sweet attack that develops into a well balanced flavor profile of fruit and bramble with a pleasant underlying smoky minerality. Became more expressive over time and I suspect a long decant would yield lovely results.
