Sunday, March 23, 2014 - Dark ruby color in the glass with a ruby rim. The bouquet is gamey and earthy, showing cedar, bramble, leather, damp earth and blackberry. The palate brings more subdued black fruit along with herbal notes of sage and turpentine. Rather rough, chewy tannins on the medium finish. Acidity is still high, and there is quite a bit of alcohol, which is a bit off-putting. There's some complexity in the wine, but it's a bit disjointed right now and likely needs a few more years to come together.
