Saturday, September 27, 2014 - 2004 Montrachet (Chez Schmidt - Chicago IL): Flight of 2004 Montrachet. Lemon custard and zest aromas with plenty of flowers and sweet spice. Similar flavors accompanied by a cross-section of tart and sweet apples. This has a fascinating weightlessness that leads to ansuperb, incredibly balanced finish. Up there with a bottle from the 2000 vintage as the best Lafon Montrachet I can ever recall tasting.
