Sunday, May 15, 2016 - Color: dark/deep ruby core -> fairly dense ruby/fuchsia rim. Opened and decanted for 2+ hours before tasting. Truly a reticent bouquet that required a lot of swirling and coaxing to get much; blueberries and plums with a touch of anisette. Clean, foursquare palate featuring the aforementioned fruits as well as a little chocolate. Good midpalate, acidity and a nice long finish, this wine is in serious need of some personality. Don't get me wrong, it is certainly well made and quaffable, it just needs to bring more to the plate --especially considering the price. I'd give it a 90 if it was around $35 but have to knock one off for missing that mark.
