Monday, November 21, 2011 - Although not especially deep and complex, this is an interesting well put together and tasty wine.It starts out with a deep purple, almost black color. The nose is pretty typical Chilean, with some Rhone influence, like tar, bacon fat and tobacco. This is an intensely spicy wine, both on the nose and the palate. There is big dark blueberry and blackberry fruit, surrounded and floating in a minty, earthy, and oakey mineral bath. Surprisingly balanced and rounded. Well integrated oak. A little short on the mid palate. Kind of a charcoal and blueberry finish that end relatively quickly.
