Friday, September 21, 2012 - Looking forward to taste this wine after having great experience with Janasse Chaupin 2009 and VV 2009 recently. Nice nose, it is not as floral and forward as 2009 Chaupin but is better than 2009 VV. Intense Grenache dominates at the moment. Notes of licorice, black berry, and coffee. Clean with very good structure, comparatively 2009 VV is more pure but with lighter structure. Smooth and silky on entry with very sweet tannins (sweeter than 2009 VV). Fresh acidity, a bit higher than 2009 VV. Great balance from get go. Overall, this is slightly better than 2009 vintage. Let's see how it hold up 24 hrs later. In the the last few months, I have tasted 2001, 2009, and 2010 VV, very consistent in quality for all 3 vintages scoring between 95 to 98 pts. 2010 VV is the best of the three.
