Dark Grenache tones with more aromas than I can describe run around in the nose. Including: fennel, garrigue, very dark cherries, tar, raw meat, bitter almonds and ... the smell of earth worms in the rain.
In the mouth this is a concentrated and mouth-staining wine of grande proportions. Great quality L+ tannins, M+ acids and a tight, well-behaved bitterness at the end. Superbly balanced, muscular and elegant. A restrained and disciplined power house.
Difficult to get too much of this one.
Score reflects the MUCH better showing after 36 hrs.
Only 2 btls left. Next one 2025-ish.
