93 Points

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - Seductive bouquet of violets, rose petals, herbs, spice, and incense. The palate opens with an intensely juicy wave of ripe black and blue berries and transitions to a stalwart and structured middle that features a pure 'sweetness' and wonderful texture. The wine finishes with a flourish for purple flowers and sweet dark berries, backed by ample tannic grip and rockiness. Tasted double blind and guessed high-end Nebbiolo because of the sweetness and spice and was surprised by its provenance. Possibly the best made, most enjoyable Lirac I have tasted. Great wine! 92-93.
