Sunday, May 8, 2011 - Full garnet color. Nose: rich black cherry and cassis with accents of plum sauce, cola, mint/nettle, and sweet toasted cedar. Medium/fuller body on the palate: silky, lush core of ripe currant and black cherry fruit framed by mocha, black olive, graphite, tobacco leaf, and an appropriate touch of toasty oak. Perfectly focused acidity. Moderate/firm sweet dusty tannins. Lingering graphite and tobacco leaf on the long dry finish. Classic Napa Cabernet. The quality of the vintage really shines through. Should develop over the next 5 years. Superb.
