90 Points

Sunday, September 9, 2012 - Gone through more than a case now and found some inconsistency from bottle to bottle. Tonight's bottle is above the average. PnP through the vinturi. In the glass: Inky magenta, super pigmented, decent legs. On the nose: Black cherries, charcoal, baking spice. In the mouth: medium mouth feel, sweet dark cherries on the tongue with some cinnamon stick & charcoal minerals, light tannin bite, light finish. This bottle shows a bit more structure than some of the previous. You can decant, but it drinks well right out of the bottle. Sometimes its interesting to see how the wine changes the longer its in the glass. This wine tastes more expensive, but not a typical pinot (at least not for Oregon). If you don't like fruit, this one's not for you. Its an everyday drinker around our house.
