Sunday, March 22, 2015 - Nose: Quite traditional Rioja nose with red fruits (between raspberries and dark plums) and a polished vanilla oakiness.
Taste: Quite light. Fruit, some acidity/ freshness and moderate and partly "polished" tannins.
An ok 9,5 year old Rioja Gran Reserva but without personality. This blends perfectly into the vast sea of similar Rioja wines. Although it was "ok" drinking there was absolutely nothing to remember about this one.
Personally I would leave this in the cellar for another 5-10 years, hoping for more bottle aromas to develop and take the chance that the taste might be rather reduced then.
