Thursday, July 2, 2015 - First bottle of Condrieu as I have been experimenting with different Viognier styles. Excellent with good structure. Was expecting a tad more acidity (though rare in Viognier) based on reviews, but still a fine wine which achieved good balance with a little air/time. Fabulous floral bouquet as expected. Palate flush with dry hints of stone fruit (peach and apricot dominant). Great "minerality". Was a bit surprised by the amount of toasted oak at first but did integrate with time. Long finish with great weight. Great choice on a warm summer day though as I rule I like whites that are not as oak driven.
