95 Points

Thursday, July 16, 2015 - A Hedonistic Night of Burgs, Bordeaux, and CDP at Tilia (Tilia, Mpls): Very dark purple red color. I'm not sure whether this got some air or not, i was thinking about 2 hours. This was such a treat to drink next to the '89 Larose and offered quite the contrast. The Pichon Baron was fantastic, hedonistic, and amazingly youthful in its display of black currant, black raspberry, and blackberry fruits layered with a sweetness and graphite kick. The last bottle I had was corked so this was wonderful to have again - thanks Steve! The Larose by contrast was lighter and elegant and more mature. Both wines were splendid and ultimately, the PB may become even better over the next 10 years. I don't want to have to pick between the two, i'll just drink them both. The PB is easily a 50 year wine and one I will make a point to follow over the next 25 years! 95(+)pts.
