90 Points

Monday, December 7, 2015 - First bottle of a half case. I tried this wine at the winery in Tuscany and the time has been favorable for development. On the nose I get incense, black fruits, vanilla, and dried herbs. On the palate the tannins and acidity are in great balance. The tannins are not drying like Tuscans can be. On the palate this has black fruits, cassis, clove, dark plum, and smoke. This finishes with a roasted espresso. This is a very round and generous wine. While not exceptionally complex, at the $14 price tag this is a nice wine that is ready to be enjoyed.
