93 Points

Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - Initially a little tight-nosed but opened up beautifully after 1-2 hours of decanting, with a well balanced bouquet of blackcurrants, cherries, charred wood and rich earth. Tannic palate followed through with red fruits, to a medium length, wonderfully smooth finish; however bitter, youthful tannins stil winning (just). Things mellowed slowly as the wine decanted, and I'm sure the tannins will integrate in time. Lovely drinking now, but will improve.
