90 Points

Wednesday, December 30, 2015 - Perfect cork. Decanted for 1h. Deep garnet, dark cherry core, slight discolouration around the rim. On the nose, heavy barnyard, violets at first. After 2 more hours in decanter, aromas of coffee beans, beef blood, iron, casis with a hint of tomato leaf and green pepper. On the palate, resolved dusty tannins, higher acidity, deep flavours of casis, leather, cigar box, black pepper spice. A bit thin on the mid palate, lacking persistence. Finish medium+ A good wine from not so good vintage. Fully mature. At its peak. Drink now or hold another 2-3 years.
