Monday, July 4, 2011 - Was advised by WL sales associate that this is "even better the next day", so I vinturi-decanted in the morning and we consumed it about 10 hours later. Color ruby with some magenta and black tones, medium-light body. Bouquet of bright strawberries, cherries, cola, green stems. First taste after a couple hours air, the fruit is darker than the nose, with cherries, black raspberries, cola, and bits of spice. Medium acid and medium-plus tannins are quite firm despite a few years age, and there is some alcohol sticking out in the finish as noted by other reviewers. Eight hours later as we're relaxing before the light show, this is still quite tight and not showing me the fireworks. If anything, the bouquet is virtually gone. Overall excellent, but not a 94 at this stage as the WE and WineSpirits scores suggest. $20 paid seems about right. Next in 2-3 yrs.
