Thursday, October 17, 2013 - Just bought a case on sale without having ever tried, so I was eager to check in and see what its like. There is some buzz out there that this is a modern Chianti producer and that there is a noticeable oak signature. Neither of those things was reassuring in my mind, so I was pleased to find this not to be the case at all. Maybe slightly modern for Chianti in that it is in a somewhat cleaner style, not as much about dirt and earth and acid. And in that regard, it may lose some of its Chianti-ness. But overall its a great food wine, with a refreshingly light body and decent acid. Certainly not a complex wine, but this will fill its role admirably, and I am very happy with the purchase.
