Friday, May 17, 2013 - Ruby red. Nose of black pepper, sage, redcurrant, smoked bacon. A bit of heat/alcohol apparent on the nose as well. Palate is medium full, with more currant and spices, quite tightly wound. Somewhat hollow in the midpalate. The finish shows smooth and pleasant tannins but showing a fair degree of heat and finishes very abruptly without any reel perseverance. Day two it has filled out a little in the midpalate and aftertaste, but it remains completely monolithic and not very interesting. Maybe it is shut down and will improve, for now i dont understand the RP note on this one!
