Tuesday, March 31, 2015 - Served with Rosalie's home-cooked birthday dinner, a pepper-crusted tuna served over a soba noodle salad. The food had a bit of a bite to it, and this worked wonderfully with it. Bright golden color, a bit deeper than a younger Gary Farrell chardonnay. Lots of pears on the nose, with some toast and honeysuckle. The wine was smooth and round in the mouth, with pears, cooked pears and apples, with oak present but restrained. Long, pleasant finish. This was a classic rendition of California chardonnay, in the best sense. Rochioli fruit probably helped.
