Friday, December 4, 2015 - The 2010 Mugneret Gibourg Chaignots is pretty closed right now, more so than the 2009 rendition in fact, but its quality is apparent. A deep and quite black fruity nose is still showing quite a bit of new oak in addition to classic roasted game and soil tones, and really needs time to knit together and open up. On the palate the wine is densely concentrated, with a firm core, and built for the long haul. This is always one of my favorite wines, and the 2010 will be very special with time!
