Sunday, December 22, 2013 - V. deep color. Ripe, spicy, black cherry, currant, mace, star anise and grilled meat. Sweet on entry with subtle vanilla turning to vibrant red cherry and spice at mid. Medium length but the flavors and spice sustain for a long time on the front and mid. This could use more length but is a fun, deeply flavored wine that falls somewhere between the Rhone and Tuscany in style.
