Thursday, May 1, 2014 - Wow. This is showing extremely well. This is clearly preserved with pristine care. Cork was only half bled through.
The nose opened in about 30 minutes in the decanter. Color was bricking nicely at the rim, nice brighter crimson.
Nose of extremely worn and old leather laced dark cherry and raspberry, cigar box, lots of light spice qualities, herbs and Autumnal essence. The palate shows more fruit than the nose. Nice tart cherries and other red fruit. Spice on the palate as well as touches of hay and barnyard. Very earthy and Old World. Again, this couldn't be showing any better at this point. Gorgeous and subtle.
