Saturday, March 3, 2012 - Popped (or actually unscrewed) with a friend on a nice sunny day on the rooftop terrace. The wine offered apricot (turning to peach with air), lemon and minerals/wet stones on the nose. On the palate the wine was tangy and minerally, showing apricot (again turning to peach with air), lime and asparagus on the palate, with aggressive medium- to high-level acidity and medium length. A solid Riesling that did not kill me and that certainly does not stand up to the winery’s phenomenal 2010 Grüner Veltliner Oberfeld Erste Lage Reserve Alte Reben.
