Saturday, May 31, 2014 - Drank it in 2002. The white tondonia is made in classical methods, with homemade barrels and clarified by egg whites. It is aged 7-8 years in barrels.
A beautiful golden colour, and a divine nose of oaky vanilla, almond, heather honey, and a little peach. Surprising intensity and complexity in the mouth, sort of like a dry oaky red combined with a sauternes without the sugar.
It has some acidity and tannin, and a lot of oak. Impressions of almond, tobacco, heather honey, peach and litchi (lychee). It feels good in the mouth and leaves a lasting refreshing finish. The perfect white wine for people who prefer to drink redwine!
For a grandiose wine of this quality and age it is dirt cheap, too.
