Saturday, November 15, 2014 - Dark, dark purple color.
Nose of ripe blackberries and plums, some leather and cedar.
BIG, BIG palate - ripe blackberries and plums dominate, black licorice and a trace of tobacco leaf on the mid-palate. While, Ramey's Jericho Canyon is typically one of my favorite Cali Cabs because it has both beautiful fruit and layered nuances this one is riper and bolder. I am not sure it will reveal the kind of nuances I would expect with age from this vineyard given where it is at 10 years. Drink now or hold for 10 more years.
