Friday, April 26, 2013 - I've been burned so many times by inexpensive grocery store Pinot's that I walked past this one at Trader Joes for over a month. My loss. This is by no means awesome Pinot, but it is Pinot. The color is clearish burgundy. The nose has a Pinot like plum and wet rotting leaves aroma. The fruit is on the simple side, but easily identifiable for the varietal with blackberry and plum with some hints of red fruit. There is a cinnamon spiciness on the roof of the mouth very commendable for a wine at this price point. A touch of vanilla with cocoa powder and light tannins on the finish.
