2010 Jean-Philippe Fichet Meursault

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Sunday, February 10, 2013 - Pop and pour. Very light straw color. Medium legs. the initial nose is very vibrant and energetic, full of a mixture of slate, gunpowder, and quince. The inital palate is full while at the same time lean (initially it has a nervy vibrancy, but behind this there's an underlying persistence and concentration). Wow, the nose really reaches out grabs my attention. At this time the mid-palate is tight but pure and clean with crisp, well-defined edges and nice energy and balance. The back palate and finish settle into a pleasingly full but focused aspect. Was equally enjoyable by itself or with food (I paired this bottle with an assortment of savory as well as sweet items, and it meshed nicely with everything).
