Sunday, April 28, 2013 - Very enjoyable overall. The nose is nothing special, typical young Pinot nose with red fruit and hints of spice, rather restrained. The palate is very dark, more dark cherry than red or pink strawberry, and while my reading suggests that other vintages of this wine see 100% new French oak (I found nothing specific to this vintage), the oak is not distinct and contributes to the dark profile and round, slightly creamy texture, without being dominant. There is a bit of sweetness to the fruit on the back palate. This shows very impressive balance, is utterly drinkable, and I found it exceedingly easy to almost finish this bottle over the course of one evening.
