Friday, July 17, 2015 - Given the great breeding of this wine and its stellar vintage, I wonder if it is just too pitifully young or whether the austerity of the NSG blanc means that this will never yield a wonderful experience. I tend to think that another 3-5 years will do the trick. Having said that, this is my only bottle and I do not plan to buy another.

As others note, no buttery tones or flavors and an out of balance acid profile. Opens with high lemon on the nose and palate, with overriding citrus hiding the floral bouquet. After 30 minutes (it was in a carafe for a half hour), the wine opened a bit but fitfully. The lemon gave way to some tropical fruit, primarily pineapple, but then hid again. The ultimate verdict is one of waiting. In the meantime, drink Leflaive--at any age a refined pleasure at Village level and up.
