Monday, June 29, 2015 - Color: medium/deep ruby -> diffuse medium ruby rim. Lovely bouquet of black cherries, white pepper, sandalwood, gravel, a little cumin and forest floor. Like its '07 sibling, this is quite savory and reasonably full bodied while also showing nice purity of fruit and light on its feet due to great acidic cut. Mineral palate of Kirsch liqueur, sage, thyme and pencil shavings. Delicious now, this needed about a 60+ minute decant to strut its stuff. I think this is just a slight step behind the '07 in complexity but is still compelling juice. Once again, Cris has produced one of the best Mourvedres I've tasted from Cali.
