90 Points

Monday, December 28, 2009 - Never really had an aged 100% Merlot before. At least one that did age properly. This is a very interesting wine. Again, lighter red garnet color with a fringe of brown hues marking its aged quality. Aromas of chocolate covered cherries. Everything about the qualities of this wine is deeply refined, extracted, and polished. The palate is overwhelmingly cherry, but not all that fruit forward. Like a very refined, light, dry but intensely cherry cordial. Slight cocoa and earthy vanilla wood. The tannins are slightly rough, but not offensive.
