Saturday, February 9, 2013 - Decanted three hours.
Took a bit of coaxing to get the aromas from the glass. Not quite as fragrant as I'd expect.
Subtle smoke and spice notes with some dark anise and touches of fresh road tar, and charred meat.
The palate is more expressive but still really soft and lower in complexity than I'd expect.
Dark berries, some baking spice and gray pepper corns. Moderate alcohol and acidity. Very balanced, very smooth.
Just unfortunate the nose was so muted.
