90 Points

Sunday, February 3, 2013 - Very nice Supertuscan that shows more Chianti than Cabernet despite the 50-50 blend. Tasted upon opening and it really needed to hit the decanter for 30-45 minutes. Nose of berries, some light vanilla oak, very pleasant. Medium bodied, with significant acidity and tannin, but in balance. Taste is similar to the nose...no noticeable earth or tobacco notes. Med-long finish. Definitely a wine that benefits from food to offset the acidity. Paired well with penne and meat sauce. I think you could lay these down for a few more years and this would gain some smoothness and complexity. Good QPR @ $20 from WTSO.
