Sunday, October 26, 2014 - Egads. I have no idea how to score this. If, like me, you've stored this wine at cellar temps, put it back and don't even think about drinking it for another decade. Not remotely ready to drink: primary, tannic, opaquely purple. Even after 3 hours of decanting, disjointed and harsh, barely hinting at future nuance. I saved half a bottle for tomorrow but I'm not optimistic that it will improve much. Not flawed, just painfully, egregiously, criminally immature.

10/29/2014 7:52:00 AM - so weird that my bottle showed much more maturity. I appreciate your note as I have more and will wait a bit before checking back in.

10/29/2014 1:17:00 PM - This bottle was in a commercial storage facility for most of the last 8 or 9 years until I pulled it out a couple of months ago. We've had this experience before with other similarly-stored bottles, especially more traditionally-made wines - I just think they age much more slowly in those conditions. (Oh, and our wine was only slightly more settled down on Day 2.)
