2008 Robert Foley Petite Sirah

Community Tasting Note

90 Points

Monday, February 25, 2013 - Dark inky purple a crushed blackberry nose. Young and bold, and not as nuanced at this stage as it will be, it has black forest soil and earthy undertones to make things interesting and counterbalance the fruit and 15.5% (!) abv. Despite the high alcohol, not at all hot. Throws off quite a bit of sediment. Subdued tannins make it approachable at a young age, but I would wait until 2015 to open one and see what secondary characteritics might develop.
