Friday, October 29, 2010 - A very big Willamette Pinot, reminding me of some CA Pinot Noir. Bouquet of spice, lavender, oak, mocha, cherries and subtle tar. The finish is predominantly dark fruit - plumbs, berry and currants. There is a touch of kirsch-like quality to this wine (as opposed to "heat" in an over-extracted high alcohol wine), but I think that will dissipate with age. The patience paid off with this one!
