Oddly, the aromas reminded me of Syrah but without any of the olive or leather-like components (which is why I can't quite figure out why I would be reminded of that grape). Tastes lighter than the color would suggest, if that makes any sense. That dark red really had me expecting something super ripe and monolithic but this was finessed. Attractive fruit along with some fennel, I think, and other appealing flavors. First rate and intriguing. A pleasure to drink--so much so that I'll certainly be back for more.
