Friday, May 11, 2012 - Simple Hedonisms Rosé Panel; 5/1/2012-8/5/2012: An admirable job on their first vintage of Rose' - a super small release I am sure. (It's not on website.)
A blend of 70% Grenache, 30% mourvedre.

Color: medium pink with an orange tinge
Nose: Interesting nose of Cranberry, cherry, watermelon and spice.
In The Mouth: A nice blend of cherry, red fruit, and Watermelon Jolly Rancher.
A good finish, with some acidity, despite the 15% alc.
A tad higher in alcohol for a rose', Baiocchi pulls it off as balanced, as they do their reds.

Would compliment summer food dishes very well. If you cam get a bottle of this tiny release from a emerging new Sierra Foothills
Rhone producer - you should.

I had the Domaine de la Mordoree Tuvel 2011 this evening. Although the wine has wonderful balance, I highly recommend the CdR. It is truly an exceptional wine for the price.
