91 Points

Saturday, January 12, 2013 - Fresh and 3-dimensional, this is a bit lighter than the 2010 Bergstrom Bergstrom Vineyard I had recently, but another winning Oregon Pinot from this vintage. Good, long finish with a dose of tannin. Flavors of anise, earth, purple, and tingly spices. Again, excellent 2nd-day performance. Lacks just a bit of complexity and bouquet compared to the 93-point Bergstrom. I would guess in riper years my preferences might be switched. This would compare favorably blind with a good Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, whereas the Bergstrom was a Grand Cru performance.
