Monday, April 21, 2014 - My third or fourth go around with this wine, and far and away the best. Now, there's nothing controlled about the way I drink this stuff, much less double-blind, so anything at all could account for the variation: perhaps I'm in a better mood than I think I am (frank assessment: pretty grumpy, in point of fact, upon popping); perhaps the 500's were a totally different batch than the 750's. The one difference I *can* readily cite is that this is the first time I popped-and-poured at room temperature and not with a chill -- and this wine is shining at room temp. It's almost *elegant* now. Soft, luscious tannins; green strawberries. There's really nothing rustic about the thing that is currently in my glass.
