Thursday, April 17, 2014 - A darkish purple in color. This 95% Syrah co-fermented with Viognier has aromas of smoke, blackberry, blueberry, black pepper with a floral overtones. Flavors of smoked meat, dark fruits, pepper and crushed rock. Well balanced with pronounced tannins and a zippy liveliness. I probably should have given this another year or two before opening, but it was delicious.

9/13/2015 6:11:00 PM - Thanks-I will have to give it a try. Be right back-will look up older WA wines that had that attribute.

9/13/2015 6:17:00 PM - It was 2005 DeLille Cellars Syrah Doyenne. For my palate it was intensely fruit forward with a strong blueberry character. Obviously I did not like it grin. Dave
